Louisiana's golf coach, Theo Sliman, has recruited a major addition to his 2010-11 squad. Garrett Westbrook, a junior college transfer, has signed a grant-in-aid to play for the Cajuns this upcoming season.

Louisiana golfer Andrew Noto qualified for the 110th U.S. Amateur Championship after winning a U.S. Amateur Local Qualifying tournament in Lake Charles August 1.

Ragin' Cajuns Andrew Noto totaled 11-under par (273) en route to a runner-up finish at the 91st Louisiana Golf Association Amateur Championship at Koasati Pines at Coushatta in Kinder. Several other Cajuns had strong showings, including redshirt freshman Kelsey Angelle (+5, 289) who finished tied for 19th. Soon-to-be seniors Seth Dufresne (+9, 293 - T-39th) and Thomas Petts (+13, 297 - T-51st) both carded their best round on the final day, a one-over 72.

Fendt, Noto Make Golf All-State

The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns golf team had two golfers, sophomores Philipp Fendt and Andrew Noto, named All-Louisiana by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association. Fendt was tabbed First Team-All Louisiana and Noto picked up Second Team honors.

After an impressive performance at the Sun Belt Men's Golf Championships, three Cajuns were named to the 2010 Sun Belt Conference Men's Golf All-Conference Team. Senior Kyle Pritchard and sophomores Philipp Fendt and Andrew Noto were presented with the honor on Wednesday afternoon.

Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns golf team will take part in the Sun Belt Conference Championship starting on Monday, Apr. 26 in Muscle Shoals, Ala. This year's three-day tournament is being held at The Shoals, part of Alabama's Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail.

In the final tournament of the fall season, Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns golf team placed three golfers in the top-five en route to a first-place team finish at the Carter Plantation Intercollegiate in Springfield, La. on Tuesday. It was the Cajuns' first win and third top-five finish this year.
