Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns dropped an 87-58 decision to Arkansas State on Wednesday evening at Earl K. Long Gym.

UL falls to 8-19 (3-12), while ASU improves to 11-15 (6-9).

A lackluster first half had the Cajuns facing an uphill battle to begin the second half.  Down 21 points after 20 minutes, UL saw their deficit reach 27 points in the first 5:37 of the second half after ASU started the second stanza on an 8-2 run.

The second half featured 30 total fouls - 19 committed by the Cajuns.

Alexis Green led the Cajuns with 23 points and seven rebounds.  Five other players made at least two field goals.  The Cajuns shot just 29.4 percent from the floor in the game.

ASU was led by Shania Hurst's 19 points.  Ebonie Jefferson and Sherina Scott also finished the night in double figures with 13 and 10 points, respectively.  Lyndsay Schlup led all players with 10 rebounds.

The Red Wolves dominated inside, scoring 48 points in the paint and grabbing 57 rebounds.  By comparison, the Cajuns had 26 points in the paint and 36 boards.

ASU began the game with an 18-3 run to take control from the opening whistle.  The Cajuns opened the contest 1-of-14 from the floor with five turnovers.

UL tried to build momentum, as Green started a 12-6 Cajuns run with a free throw and then a three-pointer.  Nicole Morris scored five points during the spurt.

The Red Wolves used their inside presence to extend their lead to 32-15 with 6:26 remaining in the first half thanks to a 24-9 edge in rebounds, including 10-4 on the offensive glass.

The Cajuns came back with a 10-4 run thanks to five points by Green.  UL had cut the ASU lead to 36-25 with 4:14 to play, but the Red Wolves finished the half by outscoring the Cajuns 13-3 to take a 49-28 lead after 20 minutes.
