Every player that touched the floor for Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns women's basketball team, contributed in a 70-67 win over Troy on Saturday at Earl K. Long Gym with three players reaching double figures.

The Cajuns led by double-digits for a majority of the game before having to hold on in the final seconds to claim victory over the Trojans. Troy's only lead in the contest came in the opening minutes with the Trojans on top 6-4 at the 17:50 mark.

After posting back-to-back wins, Louisiana is now 8-12 overall and 3-5 in the Sun Belt. Troy falls to 10-8 on the year and 3-6 in the league. The win marked the first time in head coach Errol Rogers' tenure that the Cajuns have won back-to-back Sun Belt contests at home.

By the first media time out at 15:45, the Cajuns held an 8-6 advantage. The lead would grow to 14-9 after six straight points by Mercedes Johnson.

Alexis Green's jumper at the 11:28 mark would give the Cajuns a 20-13 lead.

But a 7-1 run by Troy would bring them to within one point, 21-20, with 9:13 remaining.

Louisiana would response with a short burst of its own to reclaim a five-point lead, 27-22, with 7:46 left in the first half.

Three consecutive turnovers by Troy would allow the Cajuns to increase their lead on back-back buckets by Lyndra Bell before D'Mya Clay drilled a trey for a 32-22 lead at the 6:25 mark.

Bell would hit her fifth-straight field goal to give the Cajuns the 34-22 lead with five minutes remaining.

UL's lead would grow to as much as 14 points before taking a 39-28 lead into the half.

The Cajuns were hot from the floor in the first frame, knocking down 55.6 percent of their shots (15-27).  Bell and Johnson reached double figures by the break with each posting 11 points.

Louisiana opened the second half hot again, including knocking down three-straight three-pointers to maintain a 52-38 lead at the 13:20 mark.

But an 11-0 run by Troy would cut into UL's lead, 52-49, with 10:08 left in the game.

The Cajuns would respond with their own 7-0 run to retake a double-digit lead, 59-49, with 7:40 remaining.

The Trojans, however, would not go away. With 1:27 left in the contest, Troy had chipped away at the Cajuns' lead, trailing 68-65.

A jumper by the Trojans' Brittnie Davis made the Cajun's advantage shrink to two points, 69-67, with 12 seconds remaining.

UL's Johnson would hit 1-of-2 free throws to seal the win for the Cajuns.

Johnson finished with a team-high 19 points. Green and Bell chipped in 16 and 15 points, respectively. Green was a perfect 3-for-3 from three-point range.

As a team, the Cajuns shot 51 percent from the floor (25-49) while Troy hit 45.8 percent (24-59). But UL struggled from the free throw line, hitting just 15-of-34 (44.1 percent).

The Trojans dominated the boards with a 42-27 advantage, but Troy found themselves in foul trouble, racking up 24 personal fouls on the afternoon.

The Cajuns will play two Sun Belt games on the road next week, taking on Arkansas State on Wednesday, Jan. 27 at 7:05 p.m. CT. On Saturday, UL will face in-state rival Louisiana-Monroe at 2:00 p.m. CT.
