After battling back late in the second half, Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns soccer team was unable to defeat UALR as the Trojans were able to walk away with a 3-2 win on Sunday at the UL soccer field.

University of Louisiana SoccerLouisiana's Ragin' Cajuns soccer team will have one of its toughest tests this season as they travel to the Sunshine State to face FIU (4-5-3, 2-1-1) and Florida Atlantic (2-9-2, 0-4) in a pair of matches this weekend. The Golden Panthers boast the defending Sun Belt Conference player of the week Katrina Rose.

The Cajuns (0-11-1, 0-4) are still winless on the season, giving UALR its first Sun Belt win of the season last weekend at the UL soccer complex on a wet and muddy Sunday. On Friday, UL fell to Arkansas State, 3-1.

The Cajuns are coming off a high note, however, as freshman goalie Lauren Berlingo recorded a career-high 13 saves against UALR.

For FIU's Rose, it was the first time in her career that she was named SBC Player of the Week after her performance in the Panther's shutout victory over Denver and double-overtime tie versus North Texas last weekend.

In goal for the Panthers is Kaitlyn Savage who has 46 saves on the year and a 1.48 goals-against average.

Florida Atlantic is coming off shutout losses to two of the SBC's top teams. The Owls recently fell 2-0 to North Texas and lost 3-0 to Denver, the league's defending regular season and tournament champions. Those losses dropped Florida Atlantic's record to 0-4 in conference action.

Ashley Mannarino leads the team with four goals on the season. For Florida Atlantic in goal, Ashley Lantes has recorded 82 saves and has a 1.80 goals-against average.

The Cajuns are tied at two games apiece against Florida Atlantic in the all-time series, while they trail the Panthers in the all-time series at 4-3-2.

The last two games in the FIU series have gone into overtime and ended in scoreless ties. The Cajuns' last win over Florida Atlantic came on the road in 2007 with a 2-1 win in overtime.
