Kaitlin Bast scored three goals en route to a 6-1 victory as Denver was able to defeat Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns soccer team on Sunday afternoon at the DU Soccer Stadium. With the loss, the Cajuns fall to 0-9-1 overall on the year and 0-2 in Sun Belt play.

University of Louisiana Soccer vs DenverThe Pioneers jumped out to a 3-0 lead at the half with Bast scoring all three goals. Mariah Johnston was credited with all three assists and garnered her fourth of the afternoon later in the second half.

UL's lone goal came during the 48th minute when the Cajuns trailed 4-0. Kelli Jestes was able to score from 30 yards out off an assist by goalkeeper, Lauren Berlingo. With the goal, Jestes ranks third all-time in the Cajuns' record books with 14 career goals.

After Jestes' goal, Denver was able to tack on two more scores to put the game out of reach for Louisiana.

The Cajuns managed five shots compared to Denver's 25. The Pioneers recorded 15 shots on goal.

Louisiana will look to snap a nine-game losing streak on Friday as Arkansas State comes to Lafayette for a conference match. The match is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m.
