Professor Jean Edwards will be leading Saturday's workshop cosponsored by the Acadiana Writing Project at Acadiana Center for the Arts from 10am-12:30pm.

Acadiana Center for the Arts, Jean Edwards, and the Acadiana Writing ProjectLafayette, LA – On Saturday, June 27 from 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., the AcA will host a writing workshop series, Writing in the Center, cosponsored by the Acadiana Writing Project. Led by Professor Jean Edwards of UL's School of Architecture and Design, the workshop is designed to deepen both educators and non-educators art appreciation and enhance their writing skills.

Professor Edwards will acquaint participants with the Southern Open juried art exhibit, currently on display in the AcA’s Main Gallery and lead a series of short writing exercises. All participants will generate pieces of personal and creative writing that they can discuss and share.

The workshop will be held on June 27 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Art House at the AcA. A $10 registration fee is required to attend. Coffee and refreshments will be provided. Lafayette Parish teachers can earn Continuing Learning Unit’s through participation in the event.
