Natchitoches LA – University of Louisiana starter Jordan Nicholson and McNeese closer Jordan LeGros share the Louisiana Sports Writers Association Pitcher of the Week honors, while SLU outfielder Cody Gougler has been named this week's LSWA Hitter of the Week.

Nicholson tossed his first complete game in a Cajuns uniform after leading ULL to a 17-1 whipping over Troy on Saturday in Sun Belt Conference action. He handed the Trojans just their fifth defeat in 34 home games as he fired a five-hitter.

The junior from Ruston walked none in the contest and struck out seven. The only run he surrendered was unearned and came in the second inning. He retired 10 of the final 13 batters he faced.

LeGros helped lead McNeese to a 2-1 SLC series win over Lamar over the weekend as he collected his 10th and 11th saves of the season (school record and conference leader). He entered both the Saturday and Sunday's contests in pivotal times with Lamar on the verge of rallies, and was able to shut down the offense.

The senior from Lafayette did not allow a hit, run, or a walk in 3.2 innings pitched and struck out three batters. The Cowboys went 3-1 for the week that included a midweek win over UNO.

Gougler, a junior from Huntsville, Texas, recorded his first career multi-home run game on Sunday in Southeastern's 15-4 win over Nicholls. He hit a solo home run in the third inning that snapped a 1-1 tie, then added a two-run shot to go along with a RBI double in an 11-run fourth inning that helped guide the Lions to the Southland Conference win.

For the week, Gougler hit .571 with two homers, a double and four runs driven in. He slugged 1.071% and had a .600 on-base percentage as the Lions went 2-2 in the four-game week.
