New Orleans, La. - The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns women’s tennis team opened up their spring schedule with a tough 6-1 loss at the hands of the New Orleans Pioneers (2-3), Saturday afternoon.

Julie Mazinova was the only Cajun to earn a point for UL (0-1). Mazinova, playing in the number one spot, breezed by Sofija Karalic 6-1, 6-0 to pick up her first win of the Spring Season.

Milou Israel lost a three set match to Cassandra Escobar 6-2, 2-6, 6-2. Angela Dangond cruised in the first set of her match but ended up losing the match 1-6, 6-4, 6-2.

The Cajuns will be back in action Sunday, February 1 when they face Texas A&M Corpus Christi Tuesday, February 3, at home. The match will start at 3:00 p.m.
