The Louisiana men's tennis team began a three-game home stand to close out the 2011 season with a 6-1 win over Alcorn State on Tuesday afternoon at Cajun Courts.

The win moves the Cajuns to 6-10 on the season with three regular season dual matches remaining on the schedule before the Sun Belt conference Tournament.

The day started with UL sweeping through doubles play, winning each of the three matches by a score of 8-3. In the no. 3 doubles, Oscar Pachon and Carl Alberton tallied their fourth straight win, while Carlin Murray and Ted Nilsson posted their third straight win as a pairing.

Murray then went on the post his third straight win in singles play with a 6-1, 6-1 win as the Cajuns' no. 1 singles.

Mandl, Pachon and Farine collected straight set wins in their respective matches.

Daniel Alban, in his first match of the spring, posted a win in no. 6 singles by a score of 6-3, 6-3.

Alcorn State's sole point came in a third set tie break.

The Cajuns will conclude the 2011 home season this weekend, playing host to Tulane on Saturday, April 9 and Southern Miss on Sunday, April 10. Both matches will start at 1 p.m. CT at Cajun Courts.
