Burt Durand's comments on his video:

"Invent" is a hand-drawn animation that I did my senior year at the University of Louisiana as part of the Media Workshop courses. I was a Graphic Design major, but really wanted to explore animation. I was given free reign to work on this project for a year, in which I had to learn the entire process from the ground on up. This included figuring out the timing, programs and sounds. Not to mention building a story without dialogue.

I did what I could with practically no experience or knowledge of the field, and I hope you enjoy. Please feel free to share your interpretations of the story.

"Invent" won honors at the Red Stick International Animation Festival in Baton Rouge (A Top 10 Animation in the US), Louisiana and at the Creative Summit in San Marcos (Memorial Hoffman Award) in 2006.
