A season-high 5,624 showed up for the finale of the Basketball Reunion night as Louisiana celebrated 100 years of basketball, and the crowd was not disappointed.  J.J. Thomas turned in a career-high 22 points, La'Ryan Gary contributed 18 and Josh Brown celebrated his return with 12 points as the Ragin' Cajuns drained a season-high 10 three pointers en route to a 84-75 win over ULM on Saturday night at the Cajundome.

Thomas finished the night one rebound shy of his fourth-straight double-double in 33 minutes of action. In addition to his 18 points, La'Ryan Gary also hit 8-for-8 effort from the charity stripe.  In his first game since Jan.6, Josh Brown snatched 7 rebounds in addition to his double-figures.

As a squad, the Cajuns were 10-for-21 from three-point range as five players connected from downtown. UL finished the game shooting 45.0 percent (27-60) for the floor and an impressive 20-of-25 from the free throw line (80.0 percent).

Turnovers were another crucial factor in the win as the Cajuns' committed a season-low seven miscues on the night.

The win was the second in a row for the Cajuns who improve to 5-14 overall and 2-5 in the Sun Belt. Louisiana-Monroe falls to 6-15 on the year and 1-6 in the league.

For the first part of the second half, the two teams battled back-and-forth and neither was able to establish a secure lead. After eight lead changes and three ties, the Cajuns led 54-53 with 11:10 left in game.

With 8:55 left, Louisiana-Monroe held a three-point lead but Bryant Mbamalu hit four consecutive free throws to tie the contest at 61-61.

A quick 5-0 run gave UL its largest lead of the game at the 6:33 mark, 66-61.

The lead grew to seven, 73-66, but the Warhawks quickly cut it down one, 74-73 with 2:36 left.

Four quick points, including a monster alley-oop from Gary to Brown, put the Cajuns back ahead at the two-minute mark, 78-73.

UL knocked down four more free throws and Thomas had a breakaway jam to seal the nine-point win.

In the first half, the Cajuns found themselves down, 9-18, by the 12:34 mark after a slow start and 3-for-11 shooting.

UL hit three of its next four, including two three pointers from Josh Brown to close the gap, 18-23, by 8:29 mark.

Another trey from Raymone Andrews pulled the Cajuns to within four, 21-25, with 6:47 remaining.

After falling behind by as much as seven points, UL rattled off an 8-0 run to swing the advantage back to the Cajuns. Thomas scored six straight as a lay-up from Brown put the Cajuns up 33-32 with 1:31 left in the half.

The one-point lead would hold as the Cajuns took a 38-37 lead into the half.

After the sluggish start of 3-for-11 shooting, UL hit 10-of-14 to finish the first half shooting 52.0 percent.

Next up for the Cajuns will be North Texas on Thursday at the Cajundome. The two teams previously met in Denton, Texas earlier this year. The Mean Green won the contest 80-63. Thursday's tip-off is set for 7:05 p.m. CT.
