The Ragin' Cajuns (12-8, 3-2 Sun Belt) are looking to keep their eight-match unbeaten streak at E.K. Long alive this weekend. Eight home wins is the most by a Louisiana squad since the Cajuns notched nine victories in 2000.

The University of Louisiana volleyball team remains at home this weekend with matches against North Texas on Friday, Oct. 15 and Denver on Saturday, Oct. 16 at Earl K. Long Gym. Both matches are slated for 7 p.m. first serves.  This weekend's action is the first for Louisiana since sweeping La.-Monroe 3-0 (25-16, 25-13, 25-22) last Thursday at E.K. Long.

UL ranks first in three categories in the Sun Belt. The Cajuns have limited their opponents to a league-best .150 attacking percentage in 77 sets this season. Meanwhile, Louisiana ranks first in the league and 39th in the nation with 1.62 service aces per match. Defensively, the Ragin' Cajuns are first in digs with 16.70 per set.

Helping Mirarchi throw down the kills has been setter Mandi Gavin. Gavin, a sophomore, ranks fourth in the SBC with 9.81 assists per set. She ranks second in the conference with 0.36 service aces per set.

The combination of Caroline Dufrene and Kerrilyn Lazare have also helped Louisiana keep a balanced offensive attack. Dufrene, a senior from Lake Charles, ranks second on the team with 2.28 kills per set. Lazare averages 2.18 kills per set with 0.62 blocks per set.

Senior Lindsay Brown continues her strong season, averaging 5.47 digs per set, which ranks 17th nationally. In the Sun Belt, Brown is the leader in digs with 421. Brown has posted double-figure digs in 19-of-20 matches this season, reaching 20-plus digs 11 times.

North Texas defeated Louisiana 3-1 (25-27, 25-21, 25-17, 25-18) two weekends ago in Denton, Texas. Since then, the Mean Green (13-9, 5-2 Sun Belt) have won four out of their last five matches. Libero Sarah Wiley earned her second Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week honor after posting a combined 6.0 digs per set in UNT's victories over Arkansas State and UALR. Wiley averages 4.57 digs per set in 84 sets played this season.

Before Denver (9-13, 3-5 Sun Belt) comes to E.K. Long on Saturday, the Pioneers will face La.-Monroe on Friday evening. Denver dropped a 3-2 (25-23, 19-25, 22-25, 25-21, 15-13) match to North Texas at home on Monday. DU is led by Brea Muhle, who averages 2.82 kills per set and 1.00 blocks per set.
