In the conference opener, Brown moved to the top of the school's career digs list for the rally era with 30 digs in a 3-1 win over Troy. With the performance, Brown passed Erika Castro's (2004-07) mark of 1,589 digs to accumulate.

On Sunday, the libero notched another strong performance with 26 digs in Louisiana's 3-1 victory over South Alabama, helping the Cajuns reach the 10-win mark for the first time since 2002.

Through 16 matches played, Brown has a team-best 359 digs. Her average of 5.70 digs per set ranks seventh nationally, according to the NCAA statistics released on Monday, Sept. 26.

The honor marks the third of the season for Brown. She was named the Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Week for two consecutive weeks (Sept. 20 and Sept. 27). Brown becomes the first UL volleyball player to claim back-to-back conference honors since Clarice Laires achieved the feat in 2002. In addition, she becomes the first volleyball player in school history to earn a National Player of the Week accolade.

The Ragin' Cajuns (10-6, 2-0 Sun Belt) will host McNeese State in a midweek matchup this evening. The first serve is slated for 7:00 p.m. at Earl K. Long Gym.

In addition to the Player of the Week, CVU.com selects the Top Performers from the past week. These selections include the Player of the Week and up to 10 others. Choices consist of players who are finalists for the weekly honor and others who had exceptional individual matches. The additional selections are based on nominations and CVU.com staff criteria.
