Ragin' Cajuns softball fans get a chance to see a former Cajun in action this weekend when Karli Hubbard and the USSSA Pride come to Sulphur for the NPF Championship Series.

The National Pro Fastpitch league is holding its Championship Series later this week at McMurry Park in Sulphur, La. The tournament begins on August 26 and a champion will be crowned on August 29. The tournament features the NPF's four teams, including the USSSA Pride, of which former Cajun Karli Hubbard is a member.

Hubbard was named an NFCA All-American and Sun Belt Player of the Year in 2009, her senior season at UL. Hubbard was a four year starter for the Cajuns. She posted a .361 career batting average including a .426 mark during her senior season. While at UL, Hubbard was 51-for-54 in the stolen base category and had a career .411 on-base percentage.

Hubbard and the Pride finished the NPF regular season with the second best record in the league at 28-20. Hubbard is in her rookie season with the Pride and has played in 24 games, scoring seven runs and stealing six bases.

The festivities kick off with a Fan Fest and Home Run Derby on Wednesday, August 25 at 6 p.m. at McMurry Park. Tickets are available at the above NPF Championship Series home page link. Also, the Karli Hubbard flyer above contains a code fans can use to receive discounted tickets.
