Forbes has released the 2010 List of the Best 600 colleges and universities in America. Once again, UL is one of only three Louisiana public universities to make the list.
Editors note: The previous article, published earlier this week, was created from a faulty link and represented the inaugural 2008 rankings. That article can be seen here.
According to Forbes, "The best college in America isn't in Cambridge or Princeton, West Point or Annapolis." Instead it's Williams College, a 217-year-old private liberal arts school
The Forbes list of more than 600 undergraduate institutions is based on the quality of the education, the experiences of the students and what students achieve after graduation.
Only 7 Louisiana schools made the list, 4 of them private. The rankings are:
| Rank | Institution | Cost | Freshman Class Size |
| 151 | Tulane | 50030 | 10737 |
| 323 | Louisiana State | 25260 | 28810 |
| 327 | Centenary | 33600 | 907 |
| 447 | Loyola | 39796 | 4474 |
| 479 | Dillard | 27091 | 851 |
| 546 | Louisiana | 18124 | 16320 |
