The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns track and field program will be represented in Des Moines, Iowa, this weekend at the 2010 USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

UL is represented by three current and one former student-athlete, who will be competing at Drake Stadium on the campus of Drake University.

The action is set to kick off Thursday and will run through Sunday as the very best track and field athletes at the youth, college and professional levels in the United States will be competing.

Current players representing UL in the 2010 USA Junior Track and Field National Championships will be O'Daylon Thibeaux (triple jump), Myles Melançon (shot put) and Albert Fournette (shot put).

Former All-American Lawrence Willis will represent UL in the senior circuit version of the USA Track and Field National Championships.

Melançon, co-Sun Belt Freshman of the Year along with Thibeaux and Fournette took part in the Junior National Championships on Thursday, June 24 at 12:30 p.m.

Thibeaux and Willis will compete on Friday, June 25. Thibeaux's bid in the junior nationals comes at 1:20 p.m. Willis' bid to claim the triple jump national title comes at 6 p.m.
