Roxar is proud to announce the donation of the fully integrated RMS reservoir modeling software and the complete suite of Tempestâ„¢ reservoir engineering and simulation software to the University of Louisiana.

University of Louisiana Petroleum Engineering DepartmentThe donation of 23 licenses of Roxar’s industry leading software has a commercial value of over $22.5 million dollars. Mr. Sam Loree, Regional Manager-Americas will visit UL’s campus on Thursday, May 13, 2010, to make the official announcement of the donation and to provide training on the software to petroleum engineering personnel.

Roxar Software Solutions is a provider of integrated reservoir management solutions through the delivery of innovative technologies and is a global leader in 3D reservoir modeling and integrated simulation. Roxar’s RMS suite is comprised of multiple integrated software modules, including mapping, geological reservoir modeling, well planning, reservoir simulation and uncertainty modeling tools. RMS will enable engineering students to build geological models for any reservoir.

With this technology, students can also estimate reserves, plan wells, and simulate past and future production. In this way, they can utilize this solution to fully understand and produce maximum performance from reservoirs, regardless of geological challenges, location, or complexity. Roxar’s TempestTM suite provides state of the art modelling and simulation capabilities, including the ability to simulate a wide range of physical processes within one program, such as black oil, compositional, dual porosity, steam, coal bed methane and polymer injection. It is a modern next generation solution for reservoir simulation which is intuitive, easy to learn and cost effective. Both of the donated software suites are utilized around the globe by national and international oil companies in the evaluation and advancement of their reservoirs.

University of Louisiana Petroleum Engineering DeptRoxar was formed in 1999 as a result of a merger between Multi-Fluid ASA and Smedvig Technologies AS. It has been a division of Emerson since 2009. Emerson Process Management (, an Emerson business, is a leader in helping businesses automate their production, processing and distribution in the chemical, oil and gas, refining, power, water and wastewater treatment, metals and mining, pulp and paper, food and beverage, pharmaceutical and other industries.

Roxar ( is a leading international technology solutions provider of products and associated services for reservoir management and production optimization to the upstream oil and gas industry, with a customer base which includes all of the multinationals, major independents and the majority of national oil companies. Roxar creates value for its customers through innovative products and services that help achieve maximum performance from oil and gas reservoirs.
