Junior Achievement of Acadiana is seeking nominations for the 2010 honorees for the Acadiana Business Hall of Fame, which is scheduled for May 11, 2010, and is coordinating the event and also the beneficiary. Junior Achievement teaches young people in kindergarten through high school the tenets of work readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy.

Junior Achievement of AcadianaThe awards recognize entrepreneurial vision and innovation, economic development, and promote the connection between business and education.  Your knowledge of the business community in the Acadiana region is invaluable in nominating viable candidates for these prestigious business awards.

Nominations in six (6) categories are being sought, with a total of nine (8) awards:

Three (3) Laureates will be selected, recognized for a lifetime of work & contributions to community

One (1) Business Person of the Year,

in the prior year successfully demonstrated leadership & vision as well as contributed to their community. Must be over 40 by 12/31/09

One (1) Rising Young Business Leader,

in the prior year successfully demonstrated leadership & vision as well as contributed to their community. Must be 40 or less by 12/31/09.

One (1) Richard E. Baudouin, Jr. Award,

given to an individual with indirect impact on the business industry - a friend of business

One (1) Large Business of the Year,

50 or less employees and demonstrated success in its field, and has contributed to the community and exemplified outstanding corporate citizenry. Corporate headquarters may be outside of Acadiana.

One (1) Small Business of the Year

more than 50 employees and demonstrated success in its field, and has contributed to the community and exemplified outstanding corporate citizenry.

Corporate headquarters may be outside of Acadiana.
