Zach Osborne's career-high 13 strikeout performance last Friday at South Alabama has landed him Sun Belt Conference PItcher of the Week honors, the league office announced on Monday.

University of Louisiana BaseballIt's the first weekly honor for the Ragin' Cajuns this season. For Osborne, it's his third career honor (earned Pitcher of the Week on April 6 and April 27 last season).

Osborne turned in his fifth quality start of the season at South Alabama in the series opener on Friday, March 19, as he tallied a career-high 13 strikeouts and held the Jaguars offense to only three hits in a complete game victory. Osborne handed USA its first Sun Belt loss of the season.

Osborne allowed USA's leadoff batter to reach only once in nine innings and stranded nine Jaguar base runners. Osborne held USA hitless after the fifth inning and struck out six Jaguars down the stretch including a called third strike to end the contest.

Osborne recorded season-bests for fewest hits allowed, strikeouts and notched his first complete game of the season.

The Cajuns' Friday night starter, Osborne currently ranks second in the Sun Belt in ERA (1.80) and strikeouts (40). He leads the league in batters struck out looking with 16.

Osborne will be on the mound for the 1,000th game at "The Tigue" this Friday vs. Florida Atlantic.
