Do Cajuns fans tend to take our progress for granted? Associate AD Scott Farmer talks with ultoday.com about excellence.

You made an interesting comment recently to some Cajuns supporters. Would you mind sharing it?

Sure. A few weeks ago, we were sitting around talking about significant achievements in Ragin' Cajuns athletics, and someone mentioned that Softball had just beaten #3 Texas A&M... at College Station. I thought about that. I realized that, in all my years in college sports, in 17 years at Georgia Southern and in 9 years at Troy, we had never-- to my memory-- ever beaten a #3 team.

In any sport.

And then remember, last year Softball beat #2 ASU at the Judy Garman Classic

We sometimes tend to to take our Softball program for granted. But the significant accomplishments of those young ladies is remarkable, and I want to make sure that we not overlook the tremendous achievements there.

I'm a big believer in momentum. If we don't overlook this, if we don't take it for granted, then we can use it as a catapult to move more teams, and ultimately the entire UL athletics program, forward.
