When it comes to education policy and reform, there is no question that Louisiana is seen as one of the leaders in the nation. Yet, sometimes it seems some of our own lawmakers and state leaders don’t recognize that. Which makes it all the more interesting that as states compete for a portion of the proceeds available through the Race to the Top education program, Louisiana has been seen as an odds on favorite to win a piece of that pie.

The Zoo of Acadiana opened its doors to the public in March 1992 and the non-profit organization Friends of the Zoo of Acadiana was established in June 1993.  They are open seven (7) days a week from 9am - 5pm.  Admission prices are based on a two hour adventure, which are $9.25 for adults and $5.50 for children 3-12 yrs old.
